LG ELECTRONICS HIGHLIGHTS EXTENSIVE PRODUCT LINE, DRM TECHNOLOGY FOR LODGING AND HOSPITALITY MARKET

Company Showcases Digital Display Solutions for the Hospitality Market

MINNEAPOLIS, June 20, 2006 - Addressing digital display needs in the lodging and hospitality market, LG Electronics is showcasing one of the industry's most comprehensive selections of flat-panel displays and HDTV technology this week at HITEC 2006 (Booth #221).

Demonstrating the first digital rights management (DRM) system developed specifically for the lodging industry, LG Electronics is highlighting Pro:Idiom™ DRM technology in a series of integrated flat-screen TV sets for hotel guest rooms. An industry standard embraced by leading lodging TV makers and pay-per-view providers, Pro:Idiom is a robust, highly secure technology platform that helps to ensure rapid, broad deployment of HDTV and other high-value digital content for the hotel industry.

Additionally, LG is highlighting a variety of displays that are Pro:Idiom enabled and designed specifically for the hospitality industry, including 32-inch LCDs, 42-inch plasma displays and a 30-inch cathode ray tube (CRT) HDTV.

Three 32-inch flat-panel LCD HDTVs (models 32LP1DC, 32LX3DC and 32LX3DCS) are built around LG's fifth-generation HDTV reception circuitry and built-in HDTV pay-per-view encryption enabled by the Pro:Idiom system.

Features include wide-viewing-angle Super IPS LCD technology and LG's proprietary XD EngineTM technology. The XD Engine chip takes low resolution analog signals to near high-definition levels, improving brightness, contrast, and detail and enhancing color as well as reducing signal noise.

One 42-inch plasma HDTV (42PX7DC) and two 42-inch plasma EDTVs (42PX3DBV and 42PX3DLV) also include the built-in Pro:Idiom HDTV video-on-demand encryption. The EDTVs have a resolution of 852 x 480p, high-contrast ratio (10,000:1), high-brightness (1,500 cd/m2) and also feature XD Engine technology. The 42-inch HDTV incorporates a 1024 x 768p resolution, 5,000:1 contrast ratio, 1,000 cd/m2 high brightness and XD Engine. The line up also includes a 30-inch widescreen flat CRT HDTV (30FZ1DC) incorporating Pro:Idiom technology.

Two additional plasmas on display are the 42-inch plasma HDTV (42PC3DC) and 50-inch plasma HDTV (50PX2DC). Both units incorporate LG's XD Engine technology and include two-year warranties, a LG standard on plasma displays.

Other displays featured in LG's HITEC booth include the LC2D Series, with LCDs at 32-, 37- and 42-inches. Combining cutting-edge performance and stylish, space-saving design, the LC2D Series incorporates Super In-Plane-Switching (Super IPS) technology that provide with up to 178-degree viewing angles. The wide viewing angle allows for distortion free viewing from almost any angle, perfect for spaces where a straight view of the screen is not always available.

Further, LG's 15-inch Wireless LCD HDTV (15LW1R) will be showcased. The LCD includes a built-in rechargeable battery and wireless AV Center, and is also PC and video game safe. With a transmission up to 115 ft, the 15LW1R enables guests to watch TV in any convenient location in the guest room.
