LG ELECTRONICS PROVIDES DIGITAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE EDUCATION MARKET AT INFOCOMM 2006

Digital Solutions Meet the Needs of Both Educators and Students

ORLANDO, June 7, 2006 - LG Electronics continues to demonstrate its dedication to developing advanced tools for use in educational settings this week at InfoComm 2006. The exhibit highlights digital display products and innovative technology being deployed to meet the varied needs of the primary, secondary and higher education markets. Visitors at booth 2141 have the opportunity to experience the "LG Classroom," and experience demonstrations of the latest lineup of products developed specifically for schools.

Technology in the Classroom
Understanding the critical role that the classroom plays in any educational experience, LG has developed and designed innovative technologies, and partnered with unique content providers to bring the 'best in class' to the classroom.

The centerpiece of the LG Classroom is the 50-inch Plasma HDTV Monitor (50PM1M) that offers 1366 x 768p resolution and flexible picture-in-picture functions, among many other features. With a contrast ratio of 5,000:1 and peak brightness of 1,500 cd/m2, the LG plasmas deliver superb picture clarity and brightness in a variety of environments, including brightly lit classrooms. The unit also includes proprietary XD EngineTM technology that delivers crisp, lifelike and brilliant images. Its multiple inputs provides the opportunity for educators to deliver interactive content through many options, including a DVD player, PC or via a school-wide content delivery system, among others.

"LG's digital solutions help educators bridge the gap between teaching and technology," said Ron Snaidauf, vice president, Commercial Products, LG Electronics USA, Inc. "Most students in this country are exposed to new, innovative technologies on a daily basis. It only makes sense to apply technology to traditional educational methods, as we move into an era of technological integration in the classroom."

Other products showcased in the LG Classroom vignette include the 42-inch LCD HDTV Monitor (M4200N). The monitor incorporates Super In-Plane-Switching (Super IPS) technology providing the industry's fastest response time and one of the widest viewing angles - 178-degrees - that allows for distortion free viewing from almost any angle, perfect for students crowding over a display where a straight view of the screen is not always available. LG's 23-inch LCD HDTV Monitor (RU-23LZ55C) incorporates an impressive 176-degree viewing angle and a resolution of 1,366 x 768p, perfect for detailed viewing from almost any angle.

All of these products provide the option to connect to the teacher's computer and to the school's interface to provide a total content solution package, allowing teachers to display class materials and education content directly on a large display. Not only does this technology provide a more integrated teaching experience, it enables educators to present class materials while sitting at a desk or standing at a podium, enabling them to face the class and actively engage students in the learning process.

"With schools constantly competing against multiple media to engage children, LG offers technology that communicates the classroom curriculum in an engaging and interactive way," said Snaidauf. "Our partnerships with multiple school districts reinforce our commitment to improve performance within the classroom through the use of advanced display solutions."
