LG ELECTRONICS HIGHLIGHTS INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS INTEGRATION SOLUTIONS AT INFOCOMM 2006

Airports, Stores and Stadiums Go High-Tech with LG Displays

ORLANDO, June 7, 2006 - LG Electronics today showcased its innovative systems integration solutions at InfoComm 2006 (Booth #2141). Meeting the growing need for digital signage solutions in retail stores, airports, restaurants and bars, LG is displaying a vast array of products designed specifically for the systems integration market.

LG's latest lineup of commercial products - including innovative plasma displays, LCD and flat-screen television systems - demonstrate the global technology leader's increasing role as a provider of professional AV communications technology to corporations and small businesses.

"As business owners witness the increase of technological integration and their operations expand, LG is offering the right products to help these businesses grow," said Ron Snaidauf, vice president, Commercial Products, LG Electronics USA, Inc. "LG's large-screen, flat-panel HDTVs and monitors offer innovative display signage options and long-term cost savings."

Digital Signage at Work
Industries from sports venues to restaurants to airports are embracing digital signage as an essential element of their business. Recognizing the unique business requirements, LG continues to develop technologies and products specifically to fit these industries' needs. Products featured in the "digital signage" vignette include a 60-inch Plasma HDTV Monitor (MU-60PZ95V) and 42-inch Plasma HDTV Monitor (42PM1M) providing a variety of "image-sticking prevention" features. Both units utilize LG's proprietary XD Engine™ technology that delivers crisp, lifelike and brilliant images, and have multiple inputs providing the opportunity for businesses to deliver interactive content. Especially important for digital signage applications, all of LG's new plasma displays contain image-sticking prevention options that minimize the temporary effect of static image retention. All LG plasmas also have a two-year warranty on parts and labor.

Additional displays in the "digital signage" vignette at InfoComm 2006 include the M-Series LCD HDTV Monitors. The 37- and 42-inch monitors (M3700C-BA; M4200C-BA) include a Super IPS technology that offers a wide, 178-degree viewing angle, allowing distortion-free viewing from almost any angle. Both units offer 1,366 x 768p resolution for crystal clear images for better overall picture quality and viewing experience.

Further supporting its commitment to a total digital signage solution, LG is showcasing its ProSelect™ Series head end equipment that allows business owners to have one central location to monitor and control all their displays. With the ProSelect technology, owners can control all their LCD and plasma displays remotely behind the scenes, with the ability to control volume, content and power, among other things. This command and control solution saves business owners time and money when trying to manage their displays.

As the cost of LCD and plasma displays continues to drop, digital signage has become an affordable option for many organizations where space and time are at a premium. Retail establishments are hanging flat screens vertically from the ceiling or on a wall, with compelling images that catch - and hold - their target audiences' attention.

"The restaurant industry - an early-adopter of flat-panel plasma and LCD displays for dining areas and bars - is embracing and adopting digital signage as well, using it for interactive menus that can change from breakfast to lunch to dinner," said Snaidauf. "It's all about offering businesses unique ways to deliver information to their customers in ways that combine functionality, aesthetics and creativity."
