LG ELECTRONICS HELPS EDUCATORS BRIDGE GAP BETWEEN TEACHING AND TECHNOLOGY AT INFOCOMM 2007

Company Showcases Digital Classroom Featuring 1UControl's Virtual Remote Control Center

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 19, 2007 - LG Electronics enables educators to engage students through customized, innovative technologies and unique content in today's classroom.

Visitors at LG's InfoComm booth #2309 have the opportunity to experience the latest lineup of products developed specifically for schools in the "LG Classroom." Meeting the varied needs of primary, secondary and higher education markets, LG Electronics and 1UControl give educators complete control over the multimedia learning environment.

With 73 percent of teachers using technology in the classroom at least once a week, and 41 percent using it daily,* more and more educators are required to switch between multiple components, like large-screen flat-panel displays, DVD players, and sound systems throughout the day for different classes and lessons.

The LG Digital Classroom offers the complete classroom solution which lets administrators control all technology from 1UControl's Virtual Remote Control Center. Compatible with LG's 42-inch LCD (42LC7D) and 50-inch plasma (50PC5DC) displays, the 1UControl software controls both IR and serial AV equipment through the use of the 1UControl Controller and an AV 4x1 switcher.

The Controller is able to communicate with and control both RS-232C and IR driven equipment and offers a variety of customizable hardware and software options to fit the user's needs. This system is beneficial to teachers and administrators, as it enables complete command over the multimedia environment, including large screen flat panel displays, DVD/VCR, sound systems and more, from one location.

• LC5DC - Incorporates MPEG-4 technology, with the compressed data, more satellite high-definition educational programming will be made available for the classroom to supplement lessons, programs such as the Discovery Channel and the History Channel.
• 42LC7D - Perfect for brightly-lit classroom viewing because of its high brightness and high contrast, the 42LC7D HDTV is equipped with LG SimpLink™ technology, which allows for easy compatibility with other LG products. The LCD screen also offers 6,000:1 contrast ratio, SRS TruSurround XT™ and 1366 x 768 resolution.
• Touch-screen monitors - LG's touch-screen flat-panel HD LCD monitors offer another dynamic opportunity for classroom interactivity, enabling the students to have hands-on access to lessons, campus maps and more. The interactive touch screens will be made available in large screen sizes customized to meet customers' specific needs for flat-panel monitors.
• LCD monitors (L1953TX-BF and L226WT-BF) - LG's desktop 4:3 and widescreen LCD monitors offer high brightness and contrast, paired with the tilt- and swivel-adjustable stands, offer teachers a versatile tool for sharing content with students.
• Digital Tuner Super Multi - DVD/VHS Recorder (RC797T) - A necessity for teachers who have educational material on different formats, the unit allows the user to upconvert DVDs to 1080i resolution thorough an HDMI™ output, and play MP3 files and videotapes. To display classroom activities on the television screen, the unit includes a digital camcorder input.
