LG ELECTRONICS REMOTE JACK PACK ADDRESSES CONVERGENCE, CONVENIENCE NEEDS FOR LODGING INDUSTRY

Company Provides Innovative Multi-Media Interface for In-Room Guestroom HDTVs

NEW YORK, Nov. 12, 2006 – LG Electronics delivers connectivity, convergence and convenience to the lodging industry with the announcement of the LG Auto-Sensing Remote Jack Pack (RJP-101M) here this week at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (booth #3006).

As consumers become more tech-savvy, they want the ease and familiarity of their home in their hotel guest room. With the introduction of the RJP-101M, LG now offers the lodging industry an all-in-one hub for multiple audio/video (A/V) inputs that allow guests to interface with the TV and external portable devices such as DVD/CD players, laptop PCs, video game players, MP3 players and camcorders. A USB connection is also available for future applications.

"For the first time., LG’s RJP seamlessly integrates hotel guests’ portable devices with the large flat screen in the hotel guestroom."

Compatible with 10 LG Electronics and Zenith flat panel displays ranging from 26- to 42-inches, the auto sensing remote jack pack will conveniently install right in the room where the guests stay.

Guests will find the full-featured jack pack easy to use, only needing to plug in the audio or video component to activate the device via the TV. If the guest does not connect any devices, the in-room TV display panel will remain on the source selected. When the guest connects a device, the interface switches the TV display panel to show the new source.

The LG RJP is designed to be able to process audio from one source, and video separately from a different source, if required – i.e., guests can work on a laptop computer while listening to music from a MP3 player.

A Picture outside of Picture (POP) feature can be used on TVs that come equipped with this feature by simply selecting channel up or down once the video component is connected. The picture from the connected component will show up in the larger inset picture and the TV channel will show up in the smaller inset picture.

Satellite radio may also be available as an in-room audio source at some locations, and guests can recharge laptop or cell phone batteries while watching TV.
